Thank you to May nursery and child care helpers Holly Bredefeld, Miles Kahrl, and Doug Reitsma. These volunteers assisted Child Care Attendant Julie Malek. A special thanks you to Joe Hirsch for repairing the legs on the sofas in the child care room! The Our Chapel teacher in May was Melissa Peters. She deserves and earned our heartfelt thanks for helping Kyle with this ministry. In June, Sunday school lessons will include stories of Elijah, Jonah and Daniel. The focus will be on how God takes care of those who believe in Him. It is time to give some of the Sunday school volunteers a break. Adults and older teens willing to be teachers, story tellers and other helpers are invited to help for the next quarter – July, August and September. Please contact George Stone (397-8619) if you are willing to help any or all of the Sundays in those months. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL July 7-12 “Power Lab” Vacation Bible School! The event will take place here at the church from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Monday through Friday. Look in this issue of the Communicator for a special feature from Kyle giving lots of details about VBS. 200TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT The banks are growing heavy as children bring pennies (and other coins) to buy a flock of chickens through Heifer International. Parents should continue to encourage and support an appropriate way for their child to earn rather than just give money for this mission offering. We will collect the funds at Sunday School from now until our anniversary celebration at the end of August.
EAGLE SCOUT SERVICE PROJECT Matt Shriver gave leadership by painting two of our Sunday School classrooms as his Eagle Scout Service Project. Matt involved Scouts, teens from our church and a variety of adults to make rooms 200 and 201 fresh and clean. Funds for paint and other materials came from the church building and grounds budget. Thank you Matt and everyone who helped! Come and visit the Christian Education wing and see what a great job was done.
The Children’s Ministries Team is responsible for infants through 5th grade children. For information or to volunteer, please contact George Stone, Elder for Children’s Ministries, 397-8619 or email georgewstone1@embarqmail.com
