Youth News

Have you squeezed the cheeks of any youth recently? I challenge each of you to pinch the cheeks of someone in the youth group! Just look at Alex Shilito, his cheeks are so pinch-able! Lex McDonald is just begging for someone to pinch her cheeks. Why just last week Ty Gregg and Kim Reitsma were telling me how much they miss getting their cheeks squeezed… Okay, so I’m lying. Someone in the youth group is probably going to smack me around for this. But really, find

some way to let a youth kid in the church know how much you love them! That’s my challenge to you.

This weather is so exciting isn’t it? It’s a time of renewal, a time of new life. We have much to look forward to in youth group! In May we will begin preparing ourselves for the mission trip. This year, our training for our Mission will focus on the story as a whole. What is the big picture? How do we fit into that picture? To get a better idea of the bigger picture, we’ll be looking at the story of “The Lord of The Rings”.

Looking for a way to help the youth in their missions? While we aren’t organizing yard work, if you have requests, the youth could do some spring cleaning.  Also, we’ll be having an Ice Cream social to raise money on May 18th, come support us while you enjoy some ice cream! We will also be opening up for dinner on Tuesday, June 17th for the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure.

We’ll be selling dinner to the cyclists, and you are welcome for dinner as well! The Menu is yet to be decided. Parents, the next payment is $100, due on May 18th. Bring any questions you have to our parent meeting on May 11th.

YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISER

Did you know that our youth group receives a 5% rebate from Kroger’s on your grocery purchases? It is simple, just purchase a reloadable Kroger gift card from Kyle Peters for $5 and pay for your groceries using it and our church receives a quarterly rebate check. Approximately 20 families have participated so far and we have received over $1,000 dollars in rebates.  The card comes with a $5 balance, so it really costs you nothing to participate. Any questions, call Holly at the church office. She is a regular gift card user and can help with any questions. Thank you to Kroger’s!
